Mariestad

Visit the Old Town, the Cathedral, the Vadsbo Museum, or the charming little shops scattered throughout the city. Take the opportunity to try the very popular restaurants Kingfisher or Sill&Dynamit.

Torsö

Visit Torsö, in the middle of the Vänerskärgården biosphere reserve. The largest island in Lake Vänern, Sweden's largest lake. In the middle of a beautiful archipelago, with fantastic nature, sights, and hiking trails.

Kinnekulle

Flowers, plants, and beautiful nature with lots to do. There are several hiking trails, you can visit Lasse's cave, or swim in the quarry. Or if you are interested in beautiful buildings, you can visit one of the area's manor houses.

Göta Canal

19 miles and 200 years old with an exciting history! Swim, cycle, hike, shop, eat, sleep, play – we are close to the Sjötorp, Hajstorp, and Norrkvarn locks.

Beaches

Visit Ekudden with its beautiful sandy beach, rocky shore, and outdoor pool open during the summer. Snapenbadet is also a popular choice among Mariestad residents, with a sandy beach and large grassy areas for both swimming and relaxation.

Bicycle

Vänerport Lakefront rents out bicycles so you can easily explore the surrounding area. Discover beautiful bike trails to Kinnekulle or enjoy nature trails along the Göta Canal at our sister hotel Norrqvarn.

Padel

The hotel is just a stone's throw from the popular padel court in the harbor, which quickly becomes fully booked during the summer. If the weather is bad, you can play in the newly built padel arena located in central Mariestad.
